The Beginnings of Optical Vision Group

2013

The "Bring Your Prescription" concept comes to life, made possible by Daniel Beaulieu's expertise, gained over more than 40 years in providing lenses and frames at highly competitive prices. Entrepôt de la Lunette inc. is officially created in December 2013.

2014

The first Entrepôt de la Lunette optical store opens in Trois-Rivières, introducing a unique concept: high-quality ophthalmic products and frames at prices competitive with online retailers, paired with professional services provided by opticians.

2016

L’Entrepôt de la Lunette wins an award for “New Business Practice” at the Radisson Gala hosted by the Trois-Rivières Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

A meteoric rise

2017

No less than 11 other Entrepôt de la Lunette eyewear stores have opened their doors in just three years of operations in the largest cities in Quebec. The first eyewear store outside the province of Quebec opens its doors in Halifax, Nova Scotia under the name Optical Warehouse.

2018

Under Daniel Beaulieu's leadership, the frame supply network continued to expand, leading to the creation of the Griffé Lunetier banner. This concept offers branded frames at competitive prices, following the "Bring Your Prescription and Save" model.

That same year, Entrepôt de la Lunette was recognized as a finalist in the "Successful Business Strategy" category at the Mercuriades, a prestigious competition organized by the Fédération des chambres de commerce du Québec. This acknowledgment highlights the strong customer appeal of its business model.

Creation of Optical Vision Group and Digital Optometrist

2019

To optimize and drive growth, Daniel founded Optical Vision Group to consolidate all banners under a single entity. The group's mission remains clear: to deliver the best solutions for the essential need of prescription eyeglasses at the most competitive prices by reducing intermediaries in the supply and production chain.

2020

Providing better customer service also involves an ongoing desire to integrate cutting-edge services. Groupe Vision Optique is acquiring various technologies to improve its commercial offering and customer experience, such as virtual frame testing, digital measurement of ophthalmic lenses, appointment scheduling and online frame reservations.

In addition, Groupe Vision Optique is creating Optique Avant-Garde, a new banner, which exclusively introduces telemedicine in optometry in Quebec.

Our Story

Optical Vision Group represents the journey of passionate individuals who embrace innovation and adaptability, providing a unique shopping experience and exceptional customer service. With 20 Entrepôt de la Lunette and Optical Warehouse stores, a Griffé Lunetier boutique, and nearly 140 employees, the group continues to redefine the optical retail experience.

The Adventure Begins

The very first chapter of Optical Vision Group began taking shape when Daniel Beaulieu, now President of Optical Vision Group, worked alongside his father Maurice at Optique Drummond in the early 1970s. As a teenager, Daniel’s passion for the world of optics began to take root.

In the mid-1980s, a pivotal moment in the company's history occurred. Daniel Beaulieu acquired his first laboratory and developed a significant lens manufacturing network, which operated under the name Vision Optique from 1995 to 2005. During this period, the company established itself as a key player in the market by excelling in lens manufacturing and cutting for leading eye care professionals. In 2003, it was awarded the Radisson "Business Services Company" prize at the Radisson Gala hosted by the Trois-Rivières Chamber of Commerce and Industry and was named a finalist in the 2004 Fidéides Gala in the "Manufacturing Company" category.

A few years later, Daniel Beaulieu launched Direct-Lens.com, a groundbreaking web-based software platform. This innovation allowed him to solidify partnerships with major independent manufacturers in the lens market and prominent players in the optical industry.

Optical Vision Group’s business model is straightforward: to minimize intermediaries in lens manufacturing, thereby significantly reducing costs for customers. Even then, with this mission and vision, Daniel Beaulieu was laying the foundation for what would eventually become the Optical Vision Group.
